Outcome
A predictive
model predicts an outcome (or "end point"). Statistically speaking,
the outcome is the dependent variable in a prediction problem
Y, i.e. the variable that is predicted. The outcome should
be a clinically relevant variable. For example, when the purpose
of the predictive model is to support decision making, the outcome
should be a variable that is considered crucial in the decision-making
process.
