Stephen
Senn is Professor of Pharmaceutical and Health Statistics
at University College London. Stephen was previously the
head of the Inflammation, Bone and Allergy Group of the
Biometrics Section of the Medicine and Clinical Development
Department of Pharmaceuticals Division of CIBA-Geigy in
Basle. He studied economics and statistics at Exeter University
and obtained his PhD in statistics from the University of
Dundee. Before working for CIBA-Geigy he was a senior lecturer
in statistics at the Dundee Institute of Technology and
prior to that a statistician in the National Health Service.
He is on the editorial boards of Applied Clinical Trials,
Biostatistics, The Journal of Epidemiology and Biostatistics,
Statistics in Medicine and Statistical Methods in Medical
Research. His research interests are in drug development
and the philosophy, design and analysis of clinical trials.
His books Cross-over Trials in Clinical Research (1993)
and Statistical Issues in Drug Development (1997) are published
by John Wiley & Sons Ltd.
