These are photomicrographs of a normal (upper panel) and Sjögren's syndrome (lower panel) labial minor salivary gland biopsy. The lower panel demonstrates the characteristic changes (focal mononuclear cell infiltrates, acinar loss and relative preservation of the ducts) seen in these glands with advanced Sjögren's syndrome.
