Although caution is always prudent, there is a good chance that this man just has heartburn. There is even a chance that he may have gall bladder disease. Both of these conditions can have presenting symptoms that mimic those of a myocardial infarction (Table 1: Causes of Non-cardiac Chest Pain). The next section will explain how this is possible.
